EVERLASTING COLE SLAW

 

2 medium heads cabbage
2 Tbsp. salt
4 cups sugar
2 cups vinegar
1 cup water
1 bunch carrots, shredded
1 bunch celery, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed

Shred cabbage and mix with salt, let stand 2 hours. Boil sugar, vinegar and water for 2 minutes and cool, and then pour over cabbage. Add carrots, celery, green pepper, celery seed and mustard seed. Mix all well. Keeps in air tight container for weeks in refrigerator.
